How come Reverend is Rev .. but Father is Fr and not Fa leh?
Which one makes more sense? Friar or Father? Logically should be friar right?
The Dominicans are a mendicant order. A mendicant order is made up of friars, but a friar may not necessarily be a priest. The Franciscans have a creed, 'Some are priests, but all are brothers.'
'Friar' can be used to address priests or brothers. 'Father' for priests only. You can call the brothers 'Brother'
Friar is like a common title. I think it makes more sense to address people by their rank.
