hi all..

  hey guys i recently started going to cath of gd shepherd at city hall there to prayy and i attended a few mass... notice im one of the few youngsters around...
  
  any other young ppl go there? next time can go together? im 19 btw.
  
  anyway ive never been very religious all my life, started going to cath of gd sheperd only a while ago. i dun see myself getting baptised to adhere to very strict rules like not eating meat on fridays because i see the link between me and god as a very personal thing and not one that i must follow others to.
  
  btw im looking for a wooden crucifix necklace? anybody got any idea where to buy one or something?
  
  and im using gideon's nt and ot for my bible reference. its fine enough, right? its a 1973 version tho.

  Well for starters, why do you attend Mass?
  
  Secondly, not eating meat on Friday is not merely a rule. The point of not eating meat on Friday is to make a sacrifice in remembrance of Jesus. So actually, this rule can be a very personal thing.
  
  For crosses, rosaries, crucifixes, and other sacramentals, you can go to Carlo Catholic Society. They are next to Church of St Peter and St Paul. From the Cathedral, cross the junction to the SMU Admin building. Turn left and walk past the NTUC Income building. Just follow the path and you won't miss it.

  I'm not 'very religious' either, whatever that phrase means. Using very basic logic, the thing is, unless you can say that you hear God talking to you directly, how do you know that you are going to the right place without the help and guidance of other people?
  
  Why is not eating meat a strict rule? We do it out of love of Jesus Christ, in order to remember that He died for us on Good Friday to save us from our sins.
  
  In any case, whatever god that you have in mind, as far as we Catholics can tell, it is does not one that we worship, because our understanding of God, based on what has been revealed in the Bible, is that faith is both personal and communal. A belief in a god that is only personal is different business altogether.

  i didnt actually find cath of good shepherd, the cathedral found me..
  
  its a long story, but it eventually ended up with me entering the church and ive a very personal feeling to it..
  
  and yes if possible, i would like to have guidance to the catholic lifestyle and the cath of gd shepherd.

  It's good to hear that you're drawn to the Catholic faith. Do take part in youth activities. Some churches have very vibrant youth ministry.
