August 22: Memorial of the the Queenship of Mary
O Mother of God, today thou art carried into heaven on the chariots of the cherubim, the seraphim wait upon thee and the ranks of the heavenly army bow before thee.
The Church celebrates a memorial in honor of the Queenship of Mary. This memorial is placed an octave, that is, eight days after celebrating Mary's Assumption into Heaven.
Christ is our King, and the Lord of Lords. The Church recognises Mary as Queen, because She is the Mother of Christ.

I must admit that it's kind of ironic that the Muslims and the Pagans respect the Blessed Lady more than many Christians. -

a lot of Hindus ended up converting through MAry. In the last RCIA batch at my church there were 2-3 converts. they started praying at the grotto... but slowly got to know the people there.. then they attended RCIAOriginally posted by SingaporeMacross:The Church does not proclaim Her as Goddess.

Strangely, I had one Indian form teacher, we all like him, who was both a believer in Mary and is a Hindu.
