Church of Divine Mercy in Pasir Ris

  Today I rec'd an appeal for donation for building this new church at Pasir Ris.
  They have finally decided to build a new church building to accomodate the growing population in the east district.
  
  Anybody read about it? I can't find anything on the veritas website.

  Secondly, this looks like a very big energy sink. If my impression is correct, then the architects have done everyone a big disservice. They need to plan for the day when crude oil hits US$200 a barrel, which is something that will happen way before the lease on the church land runs out.

  first time i've seen the design...
  
  Holy Cross gave out envelopes for donations last sunday...
  
  would be nicer if they had the old type church.. i miss St Francis Xavier in Melbourne City.. it is old and had wooden pews and stuff... i love churches like that

  ahh.. the church in Melbourne Central also looks like that..

  in fact, i've always wanted to go to Barcelona to see the gothic churches especially the one designed by Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia
