Something which I learnt only recently:Originally posted by vince69:Read from ST today, The Pope's Special envoy, Cardinal Martino (Vatican's first anbassador to Singapore, 1982-86), is here to mark the 25th anniversay of diplomatic ties with Singapore, think he may conduct an Approved Tridentine Masses while he is here?
(did Cardinal Martino hinted about Pope Benedict's trip to Australia in 2008, he may consider stopping by here during that trip)
You are correct, the diplomatic tie is between Singapore and the Holy See (wonder why ST refer to him as the Vatican's first ambassador to Singapore?)Originally posted by ObiterDicta:Something which I learnt only recently:
Technically speaking, the diplomatic relations are established between countries and the Holy See, not the Vatican. The term 'Vatican' refers to the city state and all the limited functions of state administration that operate within that very small piece of land.
