Just guessing,
Christ the Son, 33yrs old, man
so the artist probably think God the Father to be an old man.
The dove is probably allure to the part where the Holy Spirit decend upon Christ like a dove upon His baptism. -

but no one has ever seen God. no one had really seen God, except for a few priviledge ones like Abraham.
so how can one really have an accurate painting? well, most artist just simply express it as in how he/she sees God to be. To some He is the Ancient of Days, to others he is the Kind and Loving Father, and yet others, He is the Majestic King. How each artist sees God determine how they express Him in their paintings.
*if you want to see an image of God? you can go look into the mirror, cause, you are created in His Image.Genesis 1:27
