“…… at St Francis Kids Club, our vision is of families as little churches
in the vibrant parish of St Mary’s sharing in the mission of the universal church.”
St Francis Kids Club was set up in 1991 by parents of preschool kids with the encouragement of Fr John-Paul Tan. The current Priest Adviser is Fr Martin Low. The Club is named after St Francis, the Little Poor man of Assisi, a giant among saints, gentle and joyful, the happiest of saints!
Aim & Membership
The Club aims to assist parents in their challenging role of helping their children to be faithful followers of Jesus and active members of His Church.
Parental Involvement in a childÂ’s faith education has been recognised by the Church as essential. The Church sees parents as the first and best educators. Often children experience GodÂ’s care and love for them through the lives and actions of their parents. The clubÂ’s role is therefore supplementary and it is the parents who run the programme. Although it is not compulsory, parents are encouraged to be involved, with at least one parent attending the sessions with the child on a regular basis.
Membership is open to families with preschool kids. We hope that in the process of caring, sharing and supporting one another in the formation of your childrenÂ’s faith, you will experience the loving community spirit of GodÂ’s big family. Sessions are held either on Saturdays from 4pm to 5pm or Sundays from 10.10am to 11.10am
