I have two questions... not been able to answer for some time. So I decide to throw out and see if anyone could answer.
One question:
Novena Church is not a parish. So if I live in Thomson, let's say in one of the houses between Novena Square and Novena Church, which parish do I belong?
Another question :
Why is Novena church not a parish?
I got to know about this when my friend planned to have her wedding and she loves Novena. But the priest told her that she can't have it there because it is not a parish. Another church that is not a parish is Cathedral of Good Shepherd. -

As for which parish you belong to, you should take a look of the church map.

Am i right? -
1. Used to be from Holy Spirit. Now at OLSS due to where I live. Moving back to Holy Spirit soon. Still helping in RCIA there.
2. Novena Church is not a parish because it is not part of the diocesan structure. It belongs to the Redemptorist missionaries. Basically Catholic churches can either be governed by the diocese or a missionary. They are distinct governance structures as specified in Canon law.
3. The Cathedral is the 'church of the bishop'. It's not a parish.

Your parish is possibly Risen Christ in Toa Payoh.
