They demonstrated a technology they call "WiTricity," which they used to power a 60-watt light bulb from a power source seven feet away without any physical connection between them. The scientists said the technique uses what's called "magnetically coupled resonance," which is sort of like when an opera singer uses his or her voice to break a wine glass.
