Music fans are being warned of security issues associated with "content protected" CDs, after entertainment giant Sony BMG was found to be using anti-piracy software which hides itself on customers' PCs, in a similar way to viruses, worms and trojans.

"Then our user first plays one of the CDs in his PC, and everything works fine. But after he starts playing the second CD, his computer crashes and wont boot again. This is something I would not like to associate with buying legal CDs."

Avextrax CDs also protected one, some proctected CDs can't even play on pc and old hi-fi system

avextrax cds have their own proprietary player embedded into the cd itself. They play automatically and can't use 3rd party software to play them.

to deter piracy, english cds should follow chinese cds and free videos mah dun even need to have an extra vcd can just put the video in the cd that can be played on pc although the quality not good.

Boycott.
There is a case that they can be charged with unauthorised access, if technicalities hold. -
