A melodrama with a dark, humourous look at suburbia, Desperate Housewives unfolds secrets and truths behind the lives of residents in Wisteria Lane, through the eyes of Mary Alice Young, a young and beautiful woman.
Brenda Strong stars as Mary who shocks her small circle of girlfriends when ended her so-called perfect life.
But there is more about this group of urbanites living down that lane as Mary discovers more secrets from her elevated position in heaven. ThereÂ’s Susan Meyer (Teri Hatcher), a single mum desperate to find love; Lynette Scavo (Felicia Huffman) who sacrificed her trading career to be a full-time struggling housewife with four unmanageable kids; Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross) whose family is about to start a mutiny and ex-model Gabrielle Sollis (Eva Longoria) who romances a 17-year-old gardener behind the back of her rich husband. Then thereÂ’s neighbours like serial divorcee Eddie Britt (Nicoletter Sheridan) who never fails to amaze everyone with her romantic rendezvous.
Causing their hearts to race are the men on the block: Rex Van De Kamp (Steven Culp) who tells Bree he wants a divorce; GabrielleÂ’s husband, Carlos (Ricardo Antanio Chavira); Mary AliceÂ’s newly widowed husband, Paul (Mark Moses) who has been acting strangely lately and hunky new neighbour, Mike Delfino (James Denton) whose striking good looks has Susan and Edie vying for his attention.
Now that sheÂ’s seeing more light than when she is alive, Mary is planning to share all the juicy bits behind the closed doors of these neighbours who made up the desperate housewives!
