Babies are messed up when salivate, drinking milk, or when crying. Each time that happens, baby's face will be wiped clean. But little did we know that after wiping clean the baby's face, without applying any cream baby's cheeks and area around the mouth would go dry. Although babyÂ’s skin looks healthy and supple, in fact, it lacks of moisture.

There is no medical evidence to suggest that "salivating" during sleep is a sign of any disease. What is likely is that you may have a tendency to turn to one side when you sleep, and the saliva from the mouth tends to "drool" out (as you have no conscious control of this during sleep).Originally posted by InnoHippo:u might also drool if u sleep like this ....

Is it healthy to literally "lick one's wounds"?
On the one hand, researchers at the University of Florida at Gainesville have discovered a protein called Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) in the saliva of mice. Wounds doused with NGF healed twice as fast as untreated, unlicked wounds. So in a few species, at least, spit does have some curative powers. NGF has not been found in human saliva, but researchers do note that human spit contains such antibacterial agents as secretory IgA, lactoferrin, and lactoperoxidase. It has not yet been shown that licking your wounds actually disinfects them, but on the other hand it probably won't do you any harm.
See, the one problem is that your mouth also contains "anaerobic" bacteria, which thrive in airless environments such as the nooks and crannies of your teeth and gums. Normally these don't find their way into your saliva, but if they do, you'd be better off throwing yourself on a punji stake. So virulent are the anaerobic microbes that hospital emergency room personnel consider human bites to be among the most serious types of trauma. If not treated promptly this kind of wound can result in severe infection, sometimes so bad that the affected finger, or even the hand or arm, has to be amputated. The danger exists even if the spit in question is your own.
So in other words, licking your wounds either isn't so bad or it'll kill you. If you're one of those types with a low tolerance for ambiguity, maybe you should just forget it and try the old Boy Scout method--namely, letting the wound bleed briefly before bandaging it, thus allowing any contaminants to be washed out of the damaged area.

A dog's saliva is no more antiseptic than a human's. However, the licking removes dirt, including bacteria. The gentle massaging improves circulation at the wound and is psycologically effective too.

A kiss on the cheek or forehead doesn't carry much risk for passing germs. A traditional, though nearly archaic top-of-the-hand kiss poses a risk slightly less than kissing a door handle if the recipient hasn't washed their hands. A light peck on the lips - the kind of kiss some families give in greeting - is not very likely to transmit any disease unless there's an active cold sore on the lips of the kisser or the person being kissed, or the person just licked their lips.
Deep kissing (aka French kissing), on the other hand, is more likely to pass disease. But then again, so is sharing a straw or eating off someone's fork. The reason is because certain germs reside in saliva, as well as other bodily fluids. -

Hepatitis B and some forms of bacterial meningitis could be transmitted through kissing alone, but it's much less common than getting a cold or flu by kissing. HIV has also been found in the saliva of infected people, but there is no evidence that the virus is spread by contact with saliva. Laboratory studies reveal that saliva has natural properties that limit the power of HIV to infect. And research studies of people infected with HIV have found no evidence that the virus is spread to others through saliva by kissing. No one knows, however, whether so-called "deep" kissing, involving the exchange of large amounts of saliva, or oral intercourse increase the risk of infection.
Scientists also have found no evidence that HIV is spread through sweat, tears, urine, or feces. Studies of families of HIV-infected people have shown clearly that HIV is not spread through casual contact such as the sharing of food utensils, towels and bedding, swimming pools, telephones, or toilet seats.
Initial symptoms of HIV infection mimic those of other diseases such as the flu or mononucleosis: fever, headache, tiredness, and enlarged lymph nodes. Symptoms often disappear within a month, but people with HIV remain highly infectious. -
