I think JK Rowling has made Hermione look like a female teenage version of Simon Wiesenthal in her latest book. While Hermione has no qualms about Confounding Cormac MacLaggen during the Quidditch tryouts, she scolds Harry for slipping Felix Felicis (a steroid-like potion) into Ron's pumpkin juice before the opening match. In actual fact, Harry pretended to do it, but Ron's mood did improve for the rest of the day.
As for Simon Wiesenthal, I applaud the work his foundation is doing to hunt down Nazi war criminals who escaped prosecution in the aftermath of World War II. However, his support for the Israeli army's massacre of Palestinian civillians, notably children, is disturbing and may be a stumbling block in the war on terror.
Notice the parallels between these two characters?
