Rooney deserves the nomination,simply for his outstanding performance at the Euro Championships.
Whether he deserves to win,I'm not sure.
Henry?He's done well in the EPL but a no-show on the international front.

He has not contribute anything to either Everton or England and MU , that's said all !
Personal glory only la , just two games or so in Euro 2004 ! Later on injured !
Rooney did not contribute much too . to England's qualifying campaign of Euro 2004 , only until he came in for Paul Scholes who went injured later of the stage !
Wonder what's the criteria to qualify for these nomination ? -

While Rooney has immense potential, I shared the same sentiments that he is not yet ready to take on the Honour yet but he's good enuff to make it to the list. He somewhat needs to show more consistency. Great players showed that week in week out, inspiring their respective team in the making.
I would rather give my vote to Carlos Tevez of Boca Juniors. Made excellent impact in the recent Olympic games and Copa America as well and is consistent thruout the tournament. -
Wayne deserves the nomination for the impact he made at the Euro Championships.Just like Milan Baros.But I doubt they deserve to win the accolade since both have had indifferent forms at club level.
There's no straight favourite front runner for the title this year.Maybe Thierry Henry for spearheading the unbeaten Arsenal through the season,despite him being insignificant at the Euro Championships.

if the winner of the FIFA award is voted on the basis of his achievement at club and international level, there really aren't many to choose from. Rooney only lighted the tournament for two games that's all and Henry had an indifferent tournament. Ronaldinho is a contender but he unfortunately was not involved in the Copa America this year.
looking at the list of nominees and on the basis of merit, i will vote for Deco. He won the Champions League and steered Portugal to the finals. give me another player who has been as influential.
don't understand why beckham is nominated whereas john terry was not. obviously reputation precedes merit! -

Ruud van Nistelrooy -> Injury, been out for too long and not very successful at Euros.
Thierry Henry -> Poor international form, looks like a duck with wadded feet at international levels.
Zinedine Zidane -> Poor season at Real.
David Beckham -> Not so fantastic at Euros.
Wayne Rooney -> Too little performances by this boy.
