Morientes, Aimar, Anelka.... who will Liverpool buy for reinforcements? Morientes score ratio is better than Anelka's but the latter has age on his side.
Aimar, excellent player but perhaps a target man is much needed now. -

BÃ¥seline the other mod has been erratic in posting as well earlier in 2004, thus explaining the gulf. Hang in there bro n thanks for introducing galgal to the league. The only gal in this league if I'm not wrong.
I won't mind resetting the score to even up the field, but any changes will have to be discuss among the other mods. This of cos won't b fair to UnLeAsH_cHa0s who has shown his mettle by fighting to his current spot despite been 4 wks behind initially in 2004.
mercutioz ends 2004 as the winter champion, but UnLeAsH_cHa0s might still have a said despite the 17 pts gap. -
Well Bassie, I think Moriente is a far better choice for his Champ's League experience n proven pedigree. Despite the potential of Anelka in terms of talent n age... I think he's a disruptive influence to the wonderful team spirit that Benitez has fostered in the Anfield changing room. Morientes will b aptly supported by Baros from behind, Rises from the left n Garcia on the right. Hamann can anchored midfield n Gerard can break from midfield in a 4-1-4-1 formation.
Else going with a 4-3-3, u have Hamann, Gerard n Aimar in midfield with a combination between Nunez, Garcia, Rises supporting Morientes in the middle.
Well there's a lot of combination if Benitez manage 2 get Aimar n Morientes. Considered the sidelined players like Kewell, Cisse, Baros n Alonso. He have a delightful selection of players to choose from when they r all fit. And if I m reading him correctly, Alonso is groomed to take over the aging Hamann, freeing Gerard to rampage forward. Aimar is an apt cover for Baros as the supporting striker. Baros n Morientes can both paly upfront if required. 3 world class strikers when Cisse is fit. The wingers? I don't even want 2 go there... with Rises, Kewell, Nunez n Garcia, even Finnan when required. Perhaps if he can snatched Jaoquin right under the nose of Chelsea? -

I think so too that Morientes will be a better choice in terms of Champ League experience and his heading abilities. Technically, Morientes ain't that bad too. As of now, there's still no confirmation on the Aimar transfer. But with Aimar onboard, the Liverpool attack will be one of the best in EPL.

With regards to Alonso, I just can't see him being a tough tackling holding midfielder with his attributes. He's more like graceful playmaker than some Keano/Hamann kinda player. He's young and he'll excel with years to come.
Hmmm.. Jaoquin would be another excellent import but with Liverpool's financial ability he is out of reach man. Even if Jaoquin wants to come to Liverpool, the release fee stamped by Real Betis would cost them at least 2 players plus top-up in exchange. -
Well I don't think if Gerard stays 4 next season , provided Liverpool qualifys for Champ's League by securing either 3rd or 4th place, he 'll b happy to sits in front of the back 4 n tackle for possession, instead of surging forward n supporting the attack. In a midfield center consisting of Aimar(hopefully), Alonso n Gerard. Well one thing tho abt Aimar n Alonso, they r both prone 2 injuries. That's why i think both will take at least a season or 2 to handle themselves well at least on the physical side. (Well Alonso is out 4 6 wks after the strong tackle from Lampard). Aimar also missed most of last season with injuries. So they r both dodgy when against tight n rough treatment by opposition. Garcia's a bit lightweight for my liking, perhaps that's why Barca let him go, it's true he's versatile n get into good position, But his decision making n coolness under pressure are suspect. He could have bag a goal against Chelsea but balloon instead of being on target. Against Norwich, he was non existent bside the goal. As a collegue commented, "for a guy with such a huge price tag, his performance to-date is not comparable to Joe Cole's 15 mins on field". He shld b an impact player but sadly that's not the case, whereas Traore n Riise are making a bigger impact than him in recent weeks. -

yep u got it rite, getting 3 pts requires not only guessing the right winning team but also the correct GD. Draw match only gives u either 1 pt or 3 pt, cos it's impossible 2 get 2 pts. A few comments on this week's performance. 2nd thru 4th positions r hauling asses!!! BÃ¥seline, UnLeAsH_cHa0s, extremex n xking all registered scores in the 10s. Extremely astonishing n surprising is the performance of extremex, a whopping 19 points!!! Well keep that up 4 a couple of weeks n in March, we might still see a new league leader. Gratz, man -
