S'pore's football fans'worst nightmare might just come true : No EPL live telecasts.
Asia's EPL ESPN StarSports is giving Starhub CableTV until tomorrow to come to an agreement on their broadcast deal .
Otherwise , it will not air EPL matches and related football programming on Starhub.
A statement from the broadcaster read :"ESPN Star Sports is not prepared to continue provide coverage of the EPL withouta deal in place."

i think starhub better do something... they will be breaking their own rice bowl if they really stop telecasting the soccer matches... and i think lots of people will be cancelling their subscriptions too... no matter what fines, you cannot go on paying forever for something they are not providing...
its like suddenly tomorrow, they declare no more free incoming calls... -
If Starhub no more EPL, might as well terminate cable services liao. I think if they dun have EPL airing rights, they will get cheaper but less popular leagues such as German league or others.

In fact , it's not a secret that both of this two broadcast giant is eyeing this lucrative broadcast rights ! It's a mega business la !
Imagine if CH.5 actually broadcast Liverpool vs MU , can you imagine the advertisement MediaCorp will genenrate from this match ?
It's up to Starhub really !

In M'sia , Astro is the only one that got the rights to broadcast EPL telecast , and to see those live , a satellite dish has to be instal , unlike ours !

I think SH will increase their price to secure their market.

on one hand, the company can be said to be a tough company, willing to negotiate with suppliers and not get themselves gouged (6x the charges to telecast football is way too much)

Funny ! Newsapaper said no EPL matches on TV until a deal is finalised , but now I watching Rovers vs MU "LIVE! " leh !
" Goodwill " telecast until the deal is done ! -
