SPCA... a tragic place

Thankfully i go alone this time coz i feel that those who have not went there before may think that it is like a zoo.
When i reach there - saw animals in cages in open air(with roofing). The whole place stinks.
I proceed in the adoption compound - dogs inside individual cages look bored. Some responded in my approach with sympathetic look. One dog even has one eye injured. Most of them could not bark properly.
Behind the cages is some storing places for some 'rejected' pets. I cannot see them but can see their eerie howling sound. Seems like very seriously injured or very sick.
Went to the cat/rabbit/hamsters section. Ok, the cats looks fine to me. Even got a scratch from one of the cat while i was playing with them. The friendliest cat there is named "Charity" and "Adam". Rabbits and hamster, they simply bo hiew human.
That was it. No pictures was taken coz the place is so run down and smelly. If you are considering of adopting a pet, think thrice again.
To you, they are just a pet
To them, you are their everything -
adopt them from SPCA, you are their live saviour.

Why do I have to think thrice, or even an infinite number of times, before I decide to adopt a pet from SPCA?
That the compounds are smelly and unfit for animals to live in, it's one strong reason why we should adopt them instead of buying them from commercial pet stores. Isn't it?
I think I'll submit my application to volunteer in SPCA. It sounds really bad, but the animals really need our care.

huh??? u went alone ah??? told u le very sad place lai de.... so how was the investigator thingy dat u haf asked for??? rabbits dun realli come to strangers de... they onli respond to those they are familiar wif in the sense their tone.... dats how they differentiate....

paiseh ahhh i always get berry agitated when i talk abt the poor doggies. 
the compound sounds really really really bad.
i was thinking twice about rendering my services there because i was afraid i couldn't commit to going there weekly... but now i'm really going to submit my form after i finish with exams soon.

Folks, just to clarify. Wat i do hope is that you all really consider properly before getting a pet. Be it adoption or buy new ones from pet shop.
The dogs at SPCA seems very desperate to be own by a new owner. But too bad i can't do anything coz i was not allowed to keep animals with fur at home.
Maybe when i got my own house then adopt one.
In the meantime, i can only spread words to fellow frens, forumites, colleagues, relatives and neighbour about this. So that they know that getting a pet is not just getting a new furniture. -

the other time i went, saw this doggie. heard from the staff there tat the doggie was abused by ex owner. then whenever the doggie see got pple going close to him ah, he will tremble at one corner.. very ke lian

But the most frightening part is when a few indian youngter came in and all the dogs came barking at them, with their tail pointing upwards. My fren once told me that this is a sign when the dog is hostile. After the youngster went away, the dogs resumes to kuai kuai. Very united
Scarly this youngster once ill-treat one of them and the rest was told. An eye opener scene for me

there`s basically too little funds already
no money to support all the animals there...
