Alighters First. Many people still dunno what is this. Or better still, they know but hack care.
Usually as a regular SMRT commuter, I would let people alight first, even the door closing signal has sound out. Normally, the train operators won't closed the door if you(the one boarding the train) are standing outside.
But there are usually a majority of Singaporeans, especially West side people, rush into the train when the train door open. Forcing the alighters to dodge here and there or exit the train like a crab(walk sideways).
Especially those aunty and "Ah MAs" who may know the rules but hack care. They will just push their way through to look for empty seats. Wah pianz.
I think need to take a while for the new generations to learn the "Alighters First" rule and apply it in real life. Wat is your view then?? -

i got shoved before.. being 6', he didn't get anywhere.. so he shoved the lady beside me to get into the train..

Some moron who bashed thru the alighters to find sit and if cannot find, give a loud "Chij" sound or face chao chao. Wah liew, dunno why the seats so shiok meh.
I think 20 - 30 years later when all the older generation is being recyled, we will have a better community. Hehe

i have seen (and knocked down) people in their 20s, wearing coats and ties do that. Singapore is jux not a gracious country,enuff said. -
coming out of the train doesnt seem to b too much a problem for me leh... but horz going into the train ah... no need to say 1.... me everytime canot squeeze it den late for work leh.... supervisor complain me ah... sadz rite... duno why leh not onli aunties n ah mas lor... even those working adults also the same 1 wad....

If alighting from public transport pose as a problem to you, here's a good solution.
(It was tried and tested by someone before i swear)
*Door opens and someone is in your way
YOU:*shouts* what the fcuk is your problem?/ni na li you wun ti?/lin na beh to lo wu mun toi?
BLOCKER:*stares blankly*
YOU:*shouts*(this time louder) if i don't get out u think u can get in?/wo bu chu lai ni zhen me jing?/gan ji bi lan la!
BLOCKER:*moves*
It only works if you have an intimidating build/facial features/voice -

Well... all over singapore this happens lah... not oni in the west.. u try to go anywhere in town during the peak hour rush.. see whether the east side ppl let u alight first anot loh
For myself I normally just stand one side let alighters off first then go in. Ppl push me from behind i push back. And when I see plenty of ppl waiting to come in when I wanna slight, I just cross my arms and walk straight out.Most of the time I purposely stand at the extreme side of the doors too, where they try to squeeze in. Just this morning someone kenna my elbow liao

Simple principle oni mah... got ppl come out sure can let a few ppl go in rite? All I am saying is.. let those coming out alight in peace... they come out fast u oso can go in fast mah...

protecting urself is necessary.. but protecting ur own interest at the expense of someone else's (in this case not letting them alight first) is what i call selfish -

1 person come out 10 person WANT to go in. Is not a matter of selfish anot sometimes. If you get in you will be profiting at 9 persons' expense lol.
Selfish is those on the bus dont move to the back stay at the exit door so can alight earlier. Also same logic. If you cannot get in shout VERY loud: CAN MOVE TO THE BACK OR NOT? WHY U PPLE SO SELFISH? Then singaporeans will scared paiseh those at back door will move to the back. -
