New year traditions

i'm refering to those family traditions that not all families practise.
for example, my family cooks popiah for everyone tht pops up my gran's place,(cook liao then bring there) and we will be there stationed for the whole day till night. it happens every year during CNY first day..

eating popiah???? i never heard CNY muz eat popiah de leh... wads the meaning behind it ah?

every 2nd day it's an open house at my in-laws place where they will cook nonya dishes. However, since my grandma-in-law pass away last yr...this yr have less authetic dishes...No bo Ka lak..
