after reformating my c drive which contains my system files, will it affect in anyway my files in other hard drives? especially those word or excel files.. -

u format a drive..
not a filetype..
anywaes...my advice is...
OS...programs in one drive....documents in others....documents are important to a person....perishable..
the OS and programs..if u format...u reinstall everything...still works the same...
rather than u put OS and programs in separate drives......keep it in one....easier to maintain in the future........ -

type in
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
the flush dns part can do until yr keyboard crack... -

parka was asking abt whether i got any anti virus thing bo....so i replied him...
till now no one seems to have answered my part abt NIS -
mcafee one is better, i using Personal Firewall Plus. norton stuff very troublesome, if something corks up, u will be denied installation of future stuff...like if ur Ghost corks up, u cannot install Ghost anymore, be it earlier or newer version....dats all i switched to mcafee, no problems til nowOriginally posted by bismarck:i know NSW is sys works ...

and MS office software installed. some files were created at drive C with MS office and saved in word or excel format onto drive D (for example).
if u do a clean format and reiinstallation of OS at drive C, and intent to open up the files now at drive D when u reboot......no u can't. U still need to re-install MS office at drive C in order to open Files previously created in C and saved to D.
If you are booting from drive D, and D also has a compatible or equivalant OS installed, u can open files saved in D, assuming that D previously has MS office installed too!
