Aftermarket HID conversion

I found this on eBay. The SAAB OEM ones are just too expensive. I don't really care about auto levellers since we already have manual levellers.
Autobacs sells the same product, as well as this other shop in Eunos (can't remember the name). Costs about SGD900 a set.
I like it because the igniter is integrated into the ballast. Plus the ballast is Hella, which is what the SAAB OEM ones are as well.
What are the pros and cons of installing such a system? Will I get a SID bulb failure warning, seeing that the power is 35Watt instead of 55Watt? Will a Techll job solve this?

It will definitely throw a SID headlamp bulb failure message since the HID ballast powers up quite differently than a normal bulb would. I am just wondering if a relay would do the trick. I haven't tried it but it is worth a shot. The relay may look like a legitimate bulb to the ECU.

Hmm, dunno if its really worth a try, cos if it gives problems, thats $800+ down the drain. Actually I hesitated and missed out on this Group Purchase. I emailed them and they said they do carry H7.
On another note, today a friend of a friend just installed Xenons with auto levellers in his 318i for, get this, $3800

I heard that for BMW, the full conversion costs something like $5K!! I did the sums for our car and it came out to about $2K+. Cheaper but not that cheap either.
I learnt that the cost is in the servo and lens system in the bi-xenon headlamp. They are really expensive!! Guess that's why each headlamp cost so much. Still thinking if I should take the plunge to do it. I already have the bulb, ballast and ignitor. -

$3800 could get you a couple of PPCs or a bunch of other upgrades. -
