Stereo Update?

Many who have had it done say their system sounds significantly louder..
I was just wondering what is your starting volume set at? It might just be that TE increased the starting volume to a higher level.
You can check by acessing your stereo options and seeing the level..
Those who have the update can you pls. post your starting volume. This way we can see whether this "update" is for real or another load of BS!!

My seatbelt alarm sound is definitely about twice as loud as before.
Based on this, I think everything else should be louder than before, yes?

Can you check your starting volume by pressing on the "settings" button... Then scroll to audio settings...then max start volume.
Can you post you max start volume settings?

The volume setings is between 0-20.
Mine is set at 10. -

Guys, the setting is for max start volume and not actual start volume right? Perhaps it's not what's causing the volume to be louder. Mine is also 10 but I haven't had the stereo update yet.

I agree, the max starting volume does not affect the Tick Tock sound from signaling. So since SwedeSport signal sounds have increased with the rest of his stereo, then the TECH II must have done something !!
Can't wait to get mine done... If you know what I mean!!!!

Actually, the tick-tock (signal indicator sound) is the same. It is the seat belt reminder chime that is damn loud! It is so loud, I put on my seat belt before turning on the engine! Last time it is reversed. Is this chime coming from the speakers too?
Anyway, I set the treble and fade to neutral, but left the bass at almost maximum. The sound is very balanced now, as with the new speakers, the treble was too loud.
So now I turn the volume up a little more, and the door buzzing and rattling is back!!

Bro, if you turn up your bass all the way, the door is going to rattle irregardless of the make!!
The buzzing is surely coming from the friction between the metal of the door and the door panel. The sound proofing material that TE installed for you looks too hard and rough.... This is probably why you are still having the buzzing. If you get a chance to take the door panel off, stick some quality double sided tape between the door and the door panel.
I did this for the driver's door and I have not heard a rattle/buzz once This is including after parking under the hot sun!!

is removing the drivers door as easy/difficult as described in saabcentral ? just pop off the handle and 2 screws ? what about the clips... scared as hell if i break em...

I've removed my door panel before. After you get the door handle covers off and remove the 2 torx screws, you need quite a strong flat instrument to pry off the panel.
Here's where you gotta be really careful. Make sure your first point of insertion is exactly as depicted in the GenuineSaab document. Also, DO NOT insert too deep, else you will damage the internal door seal.
Max depth is about 1cm.
Don't bother trying to disconnect all the wires and cables attached to the door panel. Just get a low stool or beer crate and place the panel upright on it.

Removing the door panel is not easy but not difficult. I have done it twice on the driver's door to solve my buzzing problem.
The most difficult parts are trying to pry the door handle out. Very scary..!! It seems like it is going to like snap but it holds up.

I seem to have a clacking sound on the left speaker side after the install when going over rough roads.
Anyone has had this sound?
