Swimming can wear contact lens??

Hi, i am going to swimming w my bf tmll....i am shortsighted...can wear contact lens to swim??

i've worn contacts in the pool once, it was ok for a little while untill later on when they came off. But you can see clearly in the water with them on lor

but its is really nt advisible cause u duno if tat will cause u irritants or nt. getting a goggles with degree is better.

Actually contact lenses with a good pair of goggles works just as well. The main purpose is just to prevent the water getting into your eyes because they may sting.

I personally don't like contacts in the pool. It stings the eyes and you may get infected because of the dirty water.

Generally speaking, you should not swim in your contact lenses. This is for two main reasons - Firstly it is very easy for the lenses to be washed out of the eye by a small wave or if you place your head under the water. Secondly the lenses, especially the soft variety, will absorb any chemicals or germs in the water. They will then stay in or on the lens for several hours, irritating the eyes and possibly causing infection. You can get ready-made prescription swimming goggles from opticians which are not too expensive and would be safer for swimming.

i've a friend who wears glasses and goggles at the same time! omg i wonder how he was able to do that... he takes off his goggles and ta-da, there is his specs...-___-
as for ppl with high myopia (above 800), once the goggles are removed they will be partially blind. walking ard the swimming area with goggles all the time seems so weird

sure anot... All along had been scuba diving with contact lens behind my diving mask. All short sighted divers do that.
Rather then getting prescription scuba diving masks. As on the boat preparing to jump in or just came up from diving, after taking off the mask, the divers will be blind. And to bring the specs to the dive boat, is very troublesome and may even lose it.
SO far in my 4 yrs of diving... no problems with this. -
I try swimming with contact lenses in. They float up then out of my eyes.
