Yesterday while exchanging my IC for a Visitor's Pass at Changi Airfreight Centre I saw Lufthansa LH778 landing... just came in from Frankfurt.
About 1.5 hours later, after my interview, I was at Emergency Gate E2 when I saw the same plane taking off for Jakarta. Got a sense of nostalgia as I was on that flight 5 months ago.
A lot of things had happened in the 1.5 hours. Meal trolleys replaced, baggage and cargo unloaded and loaded, seats and aisles cleaned... I salute the people working hard behind the scenes to turn the plane around for the comfort of passengers.

Brudder,,,can share wz me abt this emergency Gate E2 that u talked abt?As far as I know..E2 is a normal bay at T2..the other E2 is a txy.
Yeah..those pple working v hard to turn arnd a B747 deserve our salutes.Can u imagine the LCO having the last 30mins to calculate n determine the CG of a B747,check the moment of fuel distribution.etc..and 1.5 hrs turn-around is long liow.Some A/C only has 45mins..and everything must be done wz SAFETY in mind..not jus comfort.

Yah, so many technical terms. I didn't understand what megatron was saying. But I think he meant the Load Control Officer had to calculate the centre of gravity of a B747 in the last 30 minutes. For what reason, I don't know.
Why are you so interested to know about the E2? For your information, it's not a bay or taxiway or anything technical that staff working in the industry or airport knows about. A layman would probably notice this more than anyone else, provided he/she is observant.

E2 is the 2nd emergency gate along coastal rd.
E2 is also the A310/A320 gate of T2 (the first one on the left as you look out from the viewing deck).
E2 is the taxiway which doubles up as the 2nd holding point of 20L.
