Just heard on Tuesday's TV1 primetime news that Malaysia Airlines is mulling to launch a low-cost carrier under its wing. MAS' Chief said that MAS will be left out in the race if it does not do so quickly. AirAsia has been slowly grabbing its market share in the Malaysian aviation industry.
everyone's jumping onto the bandwagon! think someone's gonna be displaced sooner or later.
Yeah, that's right. Look at Europe. Many budget airlines are bleeding or have gone bust. JetGreen Airways went bankrupt merely a week after starting operations.
In fact, the budget airline I took in Finland (Flying Finn) has gone into receivership. Finns were elated when they finally had a low-cost alternative to travel across their vast country, yet that airline couldn't sustain for more than a year. I was lucky to be one of their last few passengers.
