anyone here into FS2004 flight simming ?? just strikes me that a hell lot of american/european teens are mad about fs2004 while we singaporeans just play more mainstream games like half-life , diablo etc etc

excellent man .. i thought i was the only one in singapore who spends his time thinking of Ultimate Traffic , AI Aircraft etc ..
we should gather all the fs2004 fans of singapore ! it's so sad that we don't even have much scenery for changi .... except the "singapore forever" payware -
eh u all got use joystick?? i onli use keyboard...vv ass...even the training i cannot train.... simply becoz keyboard is hard to fly... ya we shld gather fs2004 fans.,,

i am really inspired by some of the fanatics of fs2004 at fs2004.com..... to prove my point, i am buying a rig specially for fs2004 :
3.2 ghz , 2 gb ddr 400 ram , ati radeon 9800xt , 160 gb sata
can't wait to see all my SQ B747s lined up at changi , gleaming in the sun. cool ! ! ! -
i bought a joystick just to play that game!!!
i wish changi was more detailed... but my pc is just too slow... everything is pretty laggy and i play with graphics set on high.
wanna get a new pc, but gotta save up.
and i'm pretty lazy, i only land on strips with IFR... -
Thinking of getting the game after my semestral exams. HAve you guys tried out the add-on, something about ATC?
Does the game come with Changi and SIA planes or you have to d/l? I remembered a singaporean guy created a website for people to d/l such stuff. -
eurofighter : there's a lot of add-ons you can purchase ( or download hehe ) for FS2004 .. from scenery to adding AI traffic.
nope FS2004 itself comes with dull, undetailed airports except for the major ones like JFK etc .. and some planes with mock liveries.
of course if you go to www.avsim.com , you can download tons and tons of freeware addons to spruce up ur fs2004 experience. from adding more realistic jet-engine sounds to more authentic night lighting at airports to water textures that really show the ripples shimmering in the sunlight !
i think you are referring to Melvin Rafi. he is famous for his excellent renditions of aircraft models and paints. go to www.avsim.com and search in file library for 'melvin rafi' to see his works !!
i use SingaporeForever scenery package. it's the only singapore scenery add-on for FS2002/FS2004. it's payware.
i think i am like waiting for a while before getting a highend gaming rig. there're like so many new technologies being offered this summer ! -

hmm the differences between FS2002 and FS2004 depends on how closely you have been following the transition.
things like AI aircraft being able to pushback, better but still very flawed air traffic control system, very much improved clouds and weather system, and an excellent GPS Garmin gauge. scenery is also significantly more detailed.
nice to know we have quite a handful who likes FS2002/4 !! it's a great game that took us through the millenium through FS95 , 98 . 2000 . 2002 and now 2004. -

hmmmm for hardcore FS fans , they are like so hard-up for any improvements that any subtle changes would warrant an upgrade. but to be frank, it's really not all that subtle if you have been playing fs2002 .. it does address some flaws in fs2002
on the other hand, since u are happy with fs2002, it's better u master your basic landing skills and takeoff skills first since the interface/instruments are all the same .. -
Hi, me just start fs2004. Kind of fun, me buy the joy stick just to play this game. Having a little knowledge on aircraft when i used to work in the airforce with chance to repair the aircraft but not in flying it. hahahaa.... so playing this game let me have a shiok shiok feeling, particular when the joystick have force feedback...
Currently still into lesson stage. Any real pilot here?Any idea if we have enough knowledge on fs2004, will flying a real plane be easier?

from the fellow simmers i talked with, many of them are pilots or at least pilot-wannabes who actually use FS2004 for training purposes !!
i am sure you realise by now, the realism of the game huh ? -
Me. Although the flight models are quite inaccurate. Any *REAL* pilots like to verify this?
