Changi Airport Terminal 1 undergoing S$500m makeover
SINGAPORE : Singapore's Changi Airport Terminal 1 is undergoing a S$500 million makeover to transform it into a "Tropical City".
Some of its new features will include a massive potted orchid display
rising over two storeys high, a centralised departure immigration area
and a remodelled public viewing gallery.
A new departure kerbside canopy spanning the entire length of
Terminal 1's facade and extending over the first two lanes nearest the
pavement will shelter passengers arriving at the airport.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Takenaka
Corporation have signed the contract for the upgrading works, which are
due to be completed by the third quarter of 2011.
CAAS said in a statement that the makeover will also improve passenger flow and enhance passenger experience. - CNA/ms
i 4got how T1 looks like
cos now i oni go T3 and T2
Sooner many T1 existing flights will move equally to T2/T3 and BT
Current T1 parking bay charges are among the lowest after T2 and T3,After the renovation the prices will rose up
got wat thing is neber go up one?
still got terminal 4 on the way
sadly, T1 is beginning to look old at its age.
No matter how u facelift or makeover, u can never lift the roof or widen the building.
Its cramp and makes one feel like a sardine when its packed.
Altho people consider it heaven to many other airports, its already past its time.
