  After 911 , it seems more airlines are trying to be better armed and prepared but how about surface to air attack...
  
  Can airlines maybe armed their civilian planes with defense mechanism?

  airlines are company owned....not military....
  
  if an airline jet were to carry missile, they could be considered as a threat....

  i think it would cost alot to redesign the plane all coz we are talking about passanger plane here
