  hi, i heard the age of the plane is ard 25 year old, and alot of budget airlines bought over such plane. and i believe due to the low cost of the flight, the maintenance of the plane was not in tip top condition.

  CAAS had long invested in wind shear and microburst detection systems through the Meterology Service, who also provides such data to the RSAF.

  Surely the TAF would have reported the thunderstorm.
  
  Not that I presume to fully understand the situation but the pilot should never attempt landing in a heavy thunderstorm.
  
  Perhaps the airfield should have been closed! ATC should have done better.
  
  Well, let's wait and see if it indeed is a microburst.
