oh wow... ok ok..Originally posted by precipice:i seriously doubt SQ employs greenhorns.
if i am correct they normally select those with flying experience, especially those from the airforce.

That's not really true. These RSAF pilots are still subject to interviews and if their attitude is found wanting, they will not be employed. After all, SQ has a lot pilot trainees in the pipeline and many more junior pilots eager to move up the ranks.Originally posted by rmyfrm:If I'm not wrong, you get a low base + high travel allowances.
and SQ definitely prefers employing RSAF pilots leaving service/duty.
Indeed that would most definitely apply across all industries.Originally posted by Rock^Star:That's not really true. U are interested to be SQ pilot is it?Originally posted by mhcampboy:Ask you guys ar...
sounds silly...but my friend was recommended by her sister to be a cabin crew... sister also CC la... and she got made it without any interviews...
so..am wondering... if the Pilot also recommends... his recommendations got weight or not?? lolx
Where did u get that info from? SQ preferring RSAF pilots is a half-truth / half-myth. It was something which happened in the 70s and 80s. Not today......Originally posted by rmyfrm:Indeed that would most definitely apply across all industries.
However, considering two equals - with only differences between prior experience. I would definitely standby the fact that SQ prefers RSAF pilots.
no laa.. cabin crew..Originally posted by Rock^Star:U are interested to be SQ pilot is it?
Ur friend got in as cabin crew w/o interview....just based on recommendation? Sure a not?
As for pilot, it depends. If the person u know is just a 1st or 2nd officer, forget it. Even if captain, does this guy know the people in the selection committee? There are about 2000 pilots in SQ. Even if the applicant's father is some big shot in SIA, he still subject to the stringent tests at the end of the day.
think SQ looking for more females now....after all, SQ is abt the SIA girl.Originally posted by mhcampboy:no laa.. cabin crew..
so no use ar recommendation?? haha ok ok
no laa.. am asking abt reccomendations laa...Originally posted by Rock^Star:think SQ looking for more females now....after all, SQ is abt the SIA girl.
Give it a shot though.
SQ has about 90 planes and 7000 cabin crew. If the airbus had arrived and no delays for the ones arriving next year, SIA would continue their aggressive recruitment but for now.........think maybe not so active.
Give it a shot though. No harm.
