Are You Tall?

So, I've booked my flights. Then, I call up the airline reservation desk to request for an emergency exit seat. The conversation goes like this:
Self : hello, SQ? i am booked on XXX flight on XXX date. i like to request for an emergency exit seat.
Op : are you tall?
Self : no
Op : then i'm sorry. i can't book you on one. we reserve these seats for tall passengers.
i'm like "huh? discrimination against vertically challened?".
no, no, i didn't say it. she's just doing her job, why do i wanna do that to her. 
but seriously, how tall does one have to be, to be sitting in one of those emergency exit seats?

Emergency sitting needs an accurate body build, in case of an emergency, touch wood, the emergency doors might be required to be operated by you. Flight attendants don't have enough time to tend to every door.
I have requsted for a emergency seat at age 14, cannot. At age 16, ok. But I am about 176cm tall only. So, and well, a balance have to be struck. -
Those seats are for tall people who need the space to stretch their legs...

i was placed near emergency seat..and taught how to open it and all..
i guess thats alright, since if anything happens, i can escape 1st

hahah really there is sucj thing meh? i only know they dont allow kids to sit beside the exit... maybe they hand itchy go and open.. lol

Airlines usually make a point of accommodating taller passengers in exit row seats to afford them more legroom. A taller passenger is also more likely to be able-bodied enough to assist in the opening of the door in the event of an emergency evacuation.
One disadvantage of occupying an exit row seat on a long-haul flight is that passengers getting up to stretch their legs usually end up standing and yakking in the space immediately in front of you. This can be annoying if you're trying to get some sleep. -
well , u can request for an AISLE seat..alternatively, drink less. or spray EVIAN, it does help...u know..
