6/6 vision

  i just would like to enquire..
  
  i went to the SIA website and saw this :-
  
  Medically fit with visual acuity of at least 6/60 without optical aids, correctable to 6/6
  
  so a little bit of short-sightedness is alright? and how much is 6/60 in terms of degrees that we are more accustomed to?
  
  what if i undergo LASIK surgery? is induced perfect vision allowed to be a pilot?

  6/60 means just able to see the biggest letter on the chart from 6m away..
  
  LASIK.. well, no one really knows if its induced or natural just by looking into your eyes

  Correctable to 6/6 just means you can wear glasses or contacts and get 6/6 good enough.
