KUALA LUMPUR : National carrier Malaysia Airlines said on Thursday it would sign a codesharing arrangement with Singapore Airlines (SIA) and its subsidiary SilkAir.
"Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and its subsidiary SilkAir will sign a tripartite codeshare agreement tomorrow (Friday) in a move towards greater cooperation between the national airlines of the countries," the Malaysian carrier said in a statement.
An industry official said the codesharing deal would include shuttle flights between Malaysia and Singapore and some other routes.
Combined services on routes would allow the carriers to save money on low-profit destinations amid high fuel prices. - AFP
