Can anyone tell me how to become a commercial pilot?

  Sorry for the late reply. What qualification do i need? I have a diploma from private institute. Does that meet the requirements? Is it true that only degree-holders will be recruited as a pilot(SIA)?

  yeah well i think they do take in diploma holders.
  but wats ur height and weight and eyesight ? are u colorblind? if too short they dun take.. min 1.7m i suppose... perfect eyesight ? no colorblindness ? astigmatism ? hahaa.. yeah.. go sign up wif SIA and get training at sg flying college i guess... gd luck to u dude~!!\

  Min height 1.65m. Eyesight not more then 500 degrees, correctable to 6/6. A lvls, Dip or Degree acceptable. Thats for RSAF.

  Alternatively you can go for pilot training lessons in Perth to be a commercial pilot. They have courses there.

  CAAS only recognise flying ATPL from Singapore Flying College and Massey University...
  
  If you are aspiring to be a commerical pilot in Singapore, best is either you join SIA or RSAF.

  Paying on your own to get a CPL and work towards a job in the airline is a long and tedious process. The training is expensive and the worst part is that it will not guarantee you a job. You probably have to work as an instructor to build up your hours before some airline decide to employ you.
  
  Best is to apply for SIA. They pay for your training and give you a job. The requirements can be found on their website.

  The requirements stated in the SIA website requires applicants to have pure science as one of their o' level subject... does that means people like me who did combined science stands no chance of being invited for the interview?

  yar.. the singapore air website states that u must have one pure O level subject.. preferably physics.. but i think that this will not stop you from becoming a pilot.. i think that if you really want it you should apply and try.. you will never know what will happen..
  
  for me, i was in combined science in secondary school.. but i'm currently studying in new zealand.. and will be hoping to get into massey aviation next year.. hahas.. i'm soo excited!! anyways.. it is true that you are not guranteed a job when you finish your degree.. but massey's graduates have a high employment rate after they finished the course so i don't think it should be a problem.. also.. i heard from my peeps at the aero club that there would be a big pilot shortage here in new zealand.. it even came out in the news! but i'm not sure about the aviation industry in singapore.. which means that gaining your degree with massey and all would probably gurantee you a job when you come out.. i think massey is also good because you get your singapore ATPL when you finish your course.. so i think that it is a really good thing to do.. but it is really expensive though.. i'm not sure how much it cost exactly.. but i think it would be 90,000 and above..
  
  yups.. tat's about it from me.. anyway does anyone know the link to the website that says what degrees that CAAS recognised? i went to the CAAS website and couldn't find it.. thanks a million..

  You are looking for job in CAAS?
  
  You will not find link on which Universities CAAS recognised. However as long as the university you were/are in, are recognised by any government sector, CAAS is likely to take that uni into consideration. I came from a third grade uni but is working for CAAS in a senior position.
  
  hopefully by working in CAAS, my dream towards becoming a SIA pilot will be materialise in the near future.
