Penned by a stranger, written with care
As the words unfold, like rubies rare
Poetic by nature, itÂ’s meaning discreet
Intentions as pure as honey is sweet
In love or out, as passion it stands,
Reads like a play, a monologue planned,
As such that happens takes you by surprise,
Neither prepared, neither wise.
The feeling that comes from a heart so true,
Bear witness to this love renew,
From a boy of charm, of intelligence and romance
Who prays day by day to be given a chance
To appreciate how special you truly are
Like a diamond in the rough, like an amorous star
Or like a flower in bloom, like a rainbow arc
Like rain upon sand, like a shimmer in the dark.
Yet, doubts still remain, as stubborn as it seems
Oh, could it be just an impossible dream?
Then do choose to awake your soul at rest
For truly, with eyes opened, you are much blessed
Showered with a love that only friends could possess
From friendship to courtship and words to impress
And hence will spark a relationship so real,
Only then do the intentions really reveal.
The smile upon your faces says much than you both know
So why stop at expressions? Why not just let it show?

This poem is inspired by a friend who fall for this girl who knows that something's going on, but is too shy to proceed with the next step. I wrote the poem for them to bridge what they had to express to each other. -
