also the latest Peter Jackson effort was good too!

any favourite book-to-screen adaptations?
Most book-to-screen movies are greatly, personally like Shakespeare. If anyone of you seen the VCD for Othello, please let me know, I've been looking for it for years. Thanks.

not exactly book to big screen as in movies...
But I love BBC's latest adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.....!!! The actors were well-chosen and played the characters excellently.... think Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth were the best Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy I've seen... I've seen previous adaptations of the novel but they were either too slow and boring, or not attentive to the historical background and details as this latest production. The sets and costumes were well-chosen to reflect the different classes in society of that era.... i enjoyed it so much i watched it on DVD 4 times already... kekeke
And I agree with Bear... except for a couple of movie mistakes here and there (then again, which movie doesn't have mistakes?), Peter Jackson's work on Tolkien's LOTR was excellent for a book to screen adaptation......
