Unitled (Poem)

  UNTITLED
  
  Can you see the snowy hills,
  and the beauties of the flowery field?
  Can you see the golden sun, the silvery stream,
  and the virgin forest that is evergreen?
  
  Can you see the children having fun,
  and the innocence looks, upon their blissful faces?
  Yes you can, but no I canÂ’t.
  
  Can you hear the hissing geese,
  and the whispering of the gentle breeze?
  Can you hear the roaring sea, the buzzing bees,
  and the songs of the nightingale, upon the rustling tree?
  
  Can you hear the children having fun,
  and the laughter with their childhood friends?
  Yes you can, but no I canÂ’t.
  
  Wrote this in 1992. I have not find a suitable title for this poem yet. Any good suggestions?

  Actually I am trying to express the sorrow of those who cannot hear and those who cannot see. At the same time to remind those who can to treasure what we have and not take things for granted.
  
  Lament is good, but it is more than an expression of grief and regret, there is also the reminding part of the poem.

  I also single out the children part to suggest that most of them do not have a happy childhood like us, especially those born with the disabilities.
  
  What laughter can they hear, what joy do they have?
  
  I really hope that one day, those that were mute can speak, those that were deaf can hear and those that were blind can see.
  
  And of course those that can feel will write poems and post them here.

  Vision is only part of the story. I am trying to tell the sadness of those children who can't see and can't hear and also to remind us not to take things for granted.

  sense as in sense of sight, sense of hearing.... the basic senses....
