Hello fellow POs (don't think there are any SPOs here) or perhaps NSPIs! Just a thought, does the CID allow their officers to carry their guns 24/7?
If no, which unit/department allows you to do so? -
SPO actually can carry their arms one.. but i think they leave it in the armoury for safe keeping.. i know CNB officers get to carry their weapons

Its up to the individual need....all 'Am Bai' have personal issue.
Some knew they cannot bring back their arms bcoz their family members (eg. Children, no private room etc)
Some heard of ppl forgetting their firearm in public places and got condemn for years, so put in armoury.
Some like to drink so they nv bring.
Some even forget where they put their handphone, let alone gun.
Some believe Spore is still very safe and crooks do not have guns.
So it depends if your jobs scope needs u to be operationally ready where u can be activated aft work. -

Unless U become an IO lor...
but think of the work load...izit worth it just to have own personal issue...U probably have too much work until u got no time to admire ur own personal issue. U need to hand over ur personal issue for checks regularly. FAB will conduct checks and fark u straight when the guns is dirty.
Method 2
Work very hard and become SI or SO. SI or SO all got personal issue.
There are a lot of things u cannot do when carrying a personal issue...I mean a lot of things...bcoz it is an serious disciplnary offence to expose ur personal issue in public. Dun think got gun dam stylo... -

I did not breach OSA. Besides, the newspaper got a case a few yrs back in Yishun when an off-duty CID officer pointed his revolver at a storekeeper. From there i get the info...not from my tour in SPF.

on duty all should be issued with guns will be issued. some higher rnking ones can have a 'personal' gun with specific serial number issued - so called ur very own. after duty here in sg no guns all keep in armoury. -
Hmmmz.....wondering if normal Police Officers have to surrendar their firearms lets say when they are entering the prison(surrendar to the prison superindent/warden etc...)or when visiting military camps/bases(surrendar it at the guard room)
My teacher who is an ex-prison superintendent told me that police offiers regardless of rank must surrendar their issued firearms and ammunition before being allowed entry into the prison and these items will be returned to them before they leave.is this true? -
yup, no firearms in prisons and lockups and those with the big sticker NO FIREARMS allow

Just wondering, do POs carry m16s in any department? Are they trained in it or is it just for wayang during NDP every year?
