ARE ONLINE FRIENDS = VIRTUAL FRIENDS
Talked to one of my friends online yesterday and she told me that her friends opposed the idea of making friends online, saying that it's not real..
Anyone like to comment?

I have to agree with your friend. It is real only to a certain extent. Trust within this friendship circle unfortunately lies on another level. Me 2 cents worth.

i feel that to a certian extent
online frens can be personal frens
it all depend on how much emphasis u put for it
and how high a piority for the online frens
personall as a netizen in sgforums i`ve meet many x online frens
ppl that we`ve nv seen b4 in real life..
but thro outings and such
these online frens can be slowly nutured into personal frens
i`m sure ppl can find best frens and bossom frens even in online cases..
however juz 1 word of caution
u nv know wat kind of ppl the ojnline frens really are..
so there`s a need not to take their words too seriously..
otherwise we may end up suffering..
taking things easy is a skill of life
how personal or how online u wan it to be depends on urself..
surly u can make a distinct cut between these 2
or u can mix all of them together

online frens got 2 types.......
- purely online (no meet before)
- online and offline (met and talk to before)
real frens will be like classmates, schoolmates, frens, fren's frens......
all these are different social settings and experience and will require different sets of behaviour, attitude and personalities when toking to them.... -

Personally, I feel that online friends should remain as online friends. No meet ups, no nothing. I'm shooting myself in the foot for saying this. But frankly, this is what I personally feel. Which explains my slight reluctance to turn up for anything, not because of my current locality.
Some might beg to differ from my mindset which I have just stated but please don't try to change my opinion of things. If I'm already set to B, how much A you try to put into it, I simply won't budge. Again, my 2 cents worth nia. Cheers. -

yeah... i have been to outings and met up with guys like ah ma, FOS and others whom I think I could be pals with ...
