If given a chance, will you choose the same career path?

Read the Story first, I don't mean to show off anything but this is how I feel.
I am consider a head of the Asia IT for my company, recently decided to take my Microsoft Certify ....in short (MCP or MCSE).
I most of my staff and ppl here knows that I am taking the exams, I cannot afford to fail, I am so stress now.
Printed out Q & A to study then I realise 1 subject itself have 4 - 500 Questions to study and they know me I don't know them
Realise that IT is moving very fast can't even lag for a minute, I have been missing so much and have problems catching up the hardware and software.
I told few guys about if I am given one more chance, I won't want to be in IT again. But they seems to love IT alot. Can anybody share your views, maybe could help me to pick up my interest again.
Question:
1) If you are not in IT, will you want to be in IT ? (Why?)
2) if you are in IT, will you want to be if given a chance to choose? (Why?)
3) how do you guys few about IT ppl? -
i'm quite new in this line, for a year onli, so i guess i still have alot to catch up. though i have problem catching up wif most stuffs like networking, administration, VB and C programming, but i still like IT. Can't explain y, i think the interest and the passion is there lor. ig given another chance to choose, i think i'll still stick to what i'm doing, aiyah, as always said, do wat you want and wat u like mah, dun let other pple decide for u. other pple can onli suggest and commend on wat u can do, but they can't tell u wat to do lor. hmm.......aiyah, who has not failed b4, take it as a lesson lor, i also did well for pri and sec, but come to poly, i flunk like nobody business, but fail fail lor, as long as u pass it, i dun think it is an issue....lastly good luck to u and me lah, hehe, cos i also taking my exams!!! lets do well, cheerioz!Originally posted by F.O.S:Read the Story first, I don't mean to show off anything but this is how I feel.

go wit ur heart....u like wat go for it....used to b in IT line, bt nw i changed...diff ppl gt diff interest........learning is v wide......open ur mind...

I guess I will still be in the IT line for the passion I have for IT. but I do agree that the fast pace of IT industry makes me feel obsolete and stressed out. I know that I am no longer competitive in programming skill compared to the younger programmers. but what I know is that through years of experience, I have gain how different companies operates and offer business solution. So now I provide functional solution rather then technical work.
You cant change the environment, but you got to move on with time and adapt to the environment.

although i not expert but i know wat my colleagues are toking about.......jus need to keep eyes and ears open and take the initiative to read up.... -

1) No.
2) I'm in IT line & its tough getting a job wif all the requirements like knowledge in networking, programming language etc from companies. during my college years, wat we learn is only in theory....when i 1st learn C, its already quite tough for me trying to understand it wat more wif all the requirement these days wif all the new programming language. i regret going into IT line

Don't know isit I am aging, I worry I can't catch up.
Youngster came out with the latest tech knowledge, I have to keep upgrading myself, feel so tired.
I don't know how long I can go , at the age of 40 I still can catch up or being retrench.

Presently, I am not in the IT industry but would defintely like to pick up a skill or two with regard to the industry mentioned. Seriously, if given a chance for specialisation again during my studies, I would rather choose the IT related courses and getting a IT related job. Of course, there's always the issue of obsolescence in the IT or related industry but I definitely see it as an opportunity for upgrading and gaining new knowledge
. I too understand the competitiveness in this industry, and true enough, there are always competition in other industries most likely, you name it, they have it. Think the key-point here is how one should stand out among the rest. I often envy those really technology savvy guys being able to do networking and such.
