Play Station 2

I bought a Play Station 2 (2yrs ago) , Jap version not modify.
Last year 16 Dec 2003 I sent in to another shop for modify, due to busy at work I colloected back mid Jan 2004.
I had the following problem :
1) some original DVD cannot play
2) some pirated DVD cannot play
I send back my PS2 to sevice and was returned to my on 1 Feb 2004 , I still have the same problem.
anybody encounter the same problem?
by the way, my TV is PAL I play games in B&W anybody can tell me where to buy convertor? Price? -
mine is original jap (ntsc/j version) unmodified, so cannot answer ur DVD problems.
for ur tv, i dunno how old ur tv is. tv has been selling in multi-system since dunno how many yrs ago... why is ur tv in pal only?
there's no converter from ntsc to pal. the only solution is to get a new tv, multi-system one, that can select ntsc or pal modes. -

Yes I have the same problem.... do u know that there is a special technique to play the pirated DVD??
u have to press reset button twice or something like tat !
