As a general rule of thumb, girls tend to have more criterial when looking for a 'mate' (I use the word mate here as a substitute for potential husband) but the reverse is less true to males.
Why do I say tat ?
Recently, I have a couple friend, whom broke up and the reason being was that the girl cannot except that he is not a christian.
There are also other cases where girls cannot except that the guy is poor, not good looking enuff lar.... no future lar etc etc....
Whereas for the reverse, I have never come across a guy that will demand those from a girl. In fact guys tend to be more easy going and hence does not attached the love for the girl to anything and his love is like a 'stand alone 'item...... whereas for girls, their love for man always seem to be attached to something...... like money, car, looks, etc and sometimes, even children.
In other words, girls tend leave man more easily if that 'condition' is gone. -

How you judge a person rich or poor?
I only can judge a person has rich personality, mind.
If you have the above you won't be poor for long, no need to tell your partner, if he /she is yours at the time of your success share it with her, if she leave you before that , too bad she don't desever it.
Anything that you can see from your eye might not be real, everybody can put on a face, whether you are rich or poor is inside you.
Believe yourself, do what you think is right for you, if your partner leave half way of the journay don't blame him/her for anything.
If you love him/her let them choose what they are happy with.
If he/she is nagging, complaining that you lousy and poor for the whole life, you want you life to be like that? If he /she don't leave how the right one come to you?
The one that love you will be the one willing to walk through any rocky path with you and will never leave you alone.
