Went to watch a show during the flim fest. About this young boy...looking around for an answer to the purpose of life.
I tink the purpose of life is to live life to the fullest. To do the things u want to do...cos u only live once. But if its immortality.... then i guess there is no purpose in life. -

Cos if u're going to die one day. So U will make an effort to do something u really want to do in this lifetime. So if u gonna live forever... all this motivation is gone. U dun even have to sleep or eat or play cos no matter wat, u won't die anyW. I guess its down to individual mentality. U can say that 1st day we were born, the journey next is to die. Or U can say that U were born so that u can experience wat living is...the time from the day u were born..till the day u die U are goin thru a journey. some of u say to live on forever is to have no more meanings in life. So i ask: why do u say a SHORT life has MORE meaning to it than a LONGER life? what is the meaning of dying? what is the purpose of death? do u really think u achieve anything at all in death? if u say u get relief in death then i must say u get the idea wrong - u lose EVERYTHING in death, even the feeling of relief. Religious people like to think that there is life after death, well good for you, I'm not going into details about that.
While i agree that there is a chance that an immortal might make it a habit to postpone deadlines becoz "there is always a tomorrow", i cannot agree that the main reason why people are motivated is becoz they "only live once". Do u ALWAYS remind yourself that you only live once when u are trying to complete certain tasks, all the time thinking that you are dying as time goes by? Rather I believe u want to get the sense of satisfaction from the success of doing it right the first time and meeting the deadline, or u dont want to do the task all over again.
Even an immortal might want to meet his "deadlines" and this can be a motivating factor by itself. -

And bring the world to order ...
Actually I wouldn't want mankind to exist forever ...
Once they have interstellar flight , it's time to extend my immortal reach to others ...
Either that or live my life building my dreams , a step at a time , have got so much time and resources ... -

imagine you are being tortured 24/7 forever cos you cant die.
imagine of cos you live for ever but everyday keep getting older and older until you are like a zombie.
imagine if you live forever but cannot heal so you one day lose leg the next day lose arm until in the end only a piece of you left on the road and still cannot die just lie down there forever -
