better to go early, otherwise the wisdom tooth might start decaying n oso decay those teeth near to the wisdom tooth, one of my friends delayed too long that not only his wisdom tooth need to be operated, the tooth next to it oso decayed liao so must be extracted too.
Not that painful lah, I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out in the same day, 2 with operation n 2 with simple extraction!! -

the only downside is that they paralysed my mouth which last for 8 hrs+ since they going to take out all four teeth.
They gave me the teeth as evidence of operation!!
