1st time my heart was melted by....

an old man......Yesterday go "pah you" station(Mobil) buy Delifrance loti makan...was Q-ing up to buy for my Vitasoy n Loti..then this young cashier asked me to go to the next cashier to pay for my Tao Ni n Loti as the Q at his cashier bery long..ok lor..i go to the other cashier...
There, it was an old man..aged abt 60+ (can be my ah-gong liao)..greeted me "Hi, Sir, good afternoon" with a smile....i felt uneasy...becoz this's the 1st time i encountered an old man greeted me "Sir".
I understand that in service sector, no matter how old you're, you're to greet the customers with "Sir"...i acknowledge that....but i really can't take it for an old man who does that...when he greeted me with that...i was feeling so heavy...especially he was so polite n so "ren ci" look..
Though he was slow & still learning, i never show any impatience to him...for i'm someone who can't tahan service sector ppl taking their own sweet time...
Worse still..he keep greeting me with those "Sir" thing...wah...i buey tahan...really cannot take it...then i kindly tell him that no need to call me "Sir"..he returned with a kind smile...wah liew...my heart melts..
Then when he was done with my things, he then again say" Thank you ,Sir n have a nice day"...i return him back with a smile...but deep in my heart, it was so heavy...those words are so heavy.... -

Some youngsters just take the elderly for granted.. and complain to the supervisors when they are slow in their work e.g. clearing the table. Really.. a work of "thank you" or a little smile will show that you appreciate their work..and it makes them feel good too. -

1) At a kopitiam..a group of teenagers were sitting down n the table was unclear..then one of the youngster shouted at the old auntie to go n clear their table....wah lao...knnz..the old auntie was clearing the other table and was busy...due to her age...her workpace was slow...so when she finished clearing the other table..she proceeded to clear their table n of coz...she was slow in clearing..n i heard some of the youngsters commented "wah lao...auntie..y you so slow...can faster or not? We need to eat..." Wah...TMD...sibei no "Jia Jiao"....
Finally, the old auntie finished clearing...Not even a "Thank you" was given to the auntie...nvm then..then i heard one of the youngster(gal) commented to one of their friends.."kaoz..so slow go home n rot lah, waste my time..."
I buey tahan liao n approached them n told them off that it's not nice to say such things to an old auntie and muz respect them...nbz..then atwo of them raised up from their seats n confronted me.."Y? You Buey song ah? Wanna fight huh? Take over her lah...kp so much for wat...we r the customers..ok?? Mind your own fcuking business or else you'll suffer.." Then my fren(a policeman) also buey tahan liao..showed his pass n asked to sit down n if they persist to fight, he'll take them to the police station...They LL n sit down..dare not to say a word...
haiz...what happened to the world today???? -

Haiz.. that's what efficiency did to our generation... merciless...results oriented with no feelings or respect for the elderly anymore.
I agree with you totally.. these aunties and uncles have worked all their lives and should be saluted to be still contributing to the society or at least try to support themselves through their own efforts.
These people ought to reflect and think... what happens if they were the ones doing the sweeping and cleaning...will they be happy if someone else criticise them?
