day 1/15
today seems to be damn boring.
went to gran's hse lay out popiah...let everyone eat then still there...watch the kids play ard with the senior citizens.then some ppl left..then more left...then my family ate together. then sleep
nowadays hongpaos like they give away when they see u. last time is, u go greet them then got.
i just realised i barely wished 1/2 of all my seniors there new year. *hopes my dad doesnt find out*
down there really damn boring. go there...see the kids play...eat sleep...wait till evening then go home...sibei sian....
even my uncle and aunt knows that the past few years' CNY SIBEI boring. when we were young( as in my generation) it seems to be much more lively, etc.
then as usual,my sis and i mix ard with the same few relatives, for others, we at the most say our greetings and some small talk.
i talked to my dad abt this when i heard some disputes being raised when my aunt came over in late noon. i told him disputes between their generation are ever so complex, complicated and conflicting.
he said, here in sg, we can gather whenever we like. but for overseas students, it's difficult.
CNY is getting more and more boring, mundane and has this mindset " i-come-because-i-am-supposed-to-come,receive-hongpaos-and-mandarin-oranges" or at least at my family.
1 thing abt the food is, as usual, we have an overflow of food. the popiah is in such great surplus, we can eat it for dinner for the next few days. then for the yusheng, i am counting how many are we eating this year. last year was 8.
Yusheng count: 1
