I am for co-habitation too.
What I feel is that as long as both parties are comfortable with the idea. why not.
stay together will let you knw the person much better than meeting on weekends only .... or even everyday.
All his/her bad habbits might just surface at home.

That's a good price.
My friend's exec apartment renovation cost $40 K, but not alot of stuff done up... just wardrobe, kitchen... and not very nice somemore

Speaking from a guy's point of view, i'm with living together b4 committing further, does not necessarily mean co-habiting yet too. Take it gradual maybe spend a day or a few days at a stretch staying with him/her b4 deciding to stay together and finally commit lor. jili is right that it depends on the concept of marriage between the 2 people involved....
marriage is not just abt two people who have been together long enough and decided to move in together legally...
it also means two people love each other and decided to "live" with each other "till death do us part"... just that word "live" itself means that marriage is not just a word or a title. It is the relationship itself... that the relationship has to continue growing, 2 people have to continue to love and forgive.. that they can see each other's flaws and still love them....
if cohabit is like trying the product, does that mean no matter how much you love your partner, if he/she cannot change a bad habit (like squeezing toothpaste from the middle rather than the end) means you no longer want to be with him/her?? -
You said it urself leow, a r/s works best when both partners are honest and open wrt their flaws. Sometimes 1 must give and the other take. Accepting that some things in your partner may take a long time or possibly even never will change is a big issue. The question is this: can you accept him/her even with this/these flaws? It might be a minor thing to him/er but what's it to you? hehehe what i posted was my own opinion mah and i wanted to hear other people's opinions and reasons.. kekeke...cos a lot of people say they are for cohabiting to find out the bad habits and how living with each other is like... but what if everyday living habits are different?? That would depend on what are the living habits, are they serious to a level of intolerance, and can a compromise or solution be reached.
I personally feel most disagreeable living habits can be put up with, or changed, or worked around. If two people want to stay together, they will find a solution - whether in or out of a marriage.
What is more important than mere living habits, are sides to a person you've never seen. Perhaps he/she gets physically agressive when angry? Or he/she is addicted to porn? Has a massive overdraft and continues to spend recklessly? I'm doing this right now. It's perfect! My mum is happy, my grandma remains quiet. I don't think she is too happy bout it but she's not totally against it.
But i'm tired of her asking me when i am getting married and to buy an air ticket for her.
I've heard of those people who live together for 10 years and when i get married. they get divorced in like 6 months. I think it's what reasons they got married. Could it be their last chance to save the relationship?
I think in singapore it's not very convenient to be moving into your boyfriend's house. Most sgreans still live at home till they get married or.. till they are 35 or something to buy their own flat. Imagine living with his parents? Omg i'd freak out. I think it gives couples a chance to understand what marriage is. Also lots of sgreans getting married and divorcing really quickly. Could be a thing about not knowing what to expect when married. -
