actually, when did u give them ur resignation letter ?
i supposed we should tell our company at least one month before our resignation (that's my comp. policy).
so if u wish to quit ur job at early january 2004, that means u should tell them at least on december 1, 2003.
and if they have approved, there's no way they can hold u any longer in the company, moreover not paying you.
well..unless u are not a permanent employee and you are on the contract with them. -

A lot of companies do that cos they do not want staff that are already not committed to the company to stay on and they are paronoid about potential damage that may be done to the company by these staff.......
If they really refuse, juz hang in there....you have a lot of pals here in the forum whom you can chat with everyday.... -

i tendered on 26th dec, tats the day i got my pay n aws. if i were to tender any earlier, i'm sure they wun give me my aws.
i noe its common pratise to serve your one month notice. but asking for an earlier date can be approved one lor, correct? i told them i got a new job waiting for me, and i dun wanna miss this job.
now they firmly say no, and say if i wanna leave earlier, then pay back lor.
n no, my new emplyer will be be buying me out. cos its not a high position where by they will need me badly.

n yah, cowbell, usually co will not mind if the staff leave a bit earlier, cos got new job commitment. but i simply think they are juz being difficult. dun wan let me off earlier, n i have to pay bk if i die die wanna go off earlier.
