i know.. pastis is any liqueur flavoured with star-aniseed...
others include Ouzo and Sambuca
Pernod is well known... they used to distill this stuff which is pretty much like pastis... Absinthe
dunno if we can find that stuff here.. coz one of the active ingredients in absinthe is wormwood... they used to drink the stuff by drizzling absinthe over a cube of sugar to take a little of the bitter edge off, then adding it to water which turns milky white...
absinthe is banned in many places as it contains the neurotoxin, thujone.. that stuff is chemically similar to THC..
people like gauguin, picasso, oscar wilde and edgar allen poe were drinkers of the stuff -
heh... yah u're right about the adding water to it so it turns milky white part. In Marseille they also add mint syrup to it and its called "perroquet". the other time me n tofu went to my coach's pub, i brought some pastis along for them to try.
