Promotion in the Army, SAF

  Hey Guys,
  
  Any regular officers (SAF), can you please tell me how long it normally takes for a CPT, with a first class honours, to get promoted to MAJ, and also from a MAJ to a LTC?
  
  Please advice on the pay and scales as well. Thank you.

  u probably have to work your whole life. then maybe u can end up as a general

  General?? I dont think so. Unless u r really good and have president's scholarship, if not, u can just dream abt it. U gotta understand how the public sector works here. Another way is you are related to some guy up there.

  if you are talking abt from CPT1 to MAJ, then you are looking at 4-6 yrs. From MAJ to LTC, it all depends on your performance.
  
  Well, if you are a 1st class hon & is in the scheme C, ur pay is likely to be anything from $300 - $800 more than ur peers!
